How To Write a Lead Generation Sales Letter
Create a letter that will get the customers coming to you. You want the reader to pick up the letter, glance at it and want to read more. Once they’ve read the letter, you want them to come to you for business. Follow these tips to write a lead generation sales letter.
Design a headline that catches the reader’s attention. You don’t want the reader to take one look at the sales letter and then trash it.
Keep the letter to one page. Long letters are lethal in this day and age of instant gratification. If it is too long, you can bet it won’t be read.
Place your company name at the top of the page in large, bold fonts. Include your company logo and slogan. You want your reader to remember your company.
Personalize the letter so that customers feel that you are speaking directly to them. Use the person’s name on the letter if possible.
Offer something to the customer, like business help or a solution to a problem. Place this offer at the beginning of the letter so that you don’t lose the reader’s interest.
Use common design principles like attractive fonts, interesting graphics and white space.
Write a short, catchy introduction followed by bulleted points describing your products and services. List what you can do for your potential customer.
Explain why you are the one to help or to solve the reader’s problem. Tell the reader to contact you by phone, email or at your website. Conclude with your contact information.
Use your computer’s mail merge program to send the same letter to many people. You can change the letter slightly to target different sets of people.
